THISTLE CUTTING A BIG JOB THIS YEAR 03-Feb-2008
The good season and the constant rain over the last few months have germinated every thistle that is around. These are considered noxious weeds as they take away from the feed for the livestock. The waterways and creeks have been particularly bad. We have had to walk the paddocks chipping them out three times this season as they keep germinating after rain falls. Our main thistles were Patterson's Curse, Saffron, and Scotch Thistle. Fortunately we are just about around them all now and the property is looking pretty good.
