UPDATE FOR NOVEMBER 08-Nov-2009
We have just sold our wool and there is no premium for our really fine wools of which we think the reason is do to the economic downturn. The top price for our wool this year was the rugged wool that made 16.80 / kg which was significantly less than past years.
The one positive at the moment is that live sheep are selling very well which help off set such a low wool income.
We recently sold the two year old wethers to Saudia Arabia for $71.40.
In June MEM won the Regional Award for Southern Tablelands area for NSW in the Ultimate Clip competition. This was for the second time in a row so we must be doing something right!
Looking into the future, we are having a fantastic spring with great rainfall. The stock look really good at the moment however vegetable matter will be a problem for shearing this year.
There is a circuit sale coming up of the 26th of November. With 200 2yr ewes and 75 3yr old wethers for sale.
If you would like more details on the sale please contact us.
All the best,
Andrew.
